The Shock Absorber

You were the discs between the vertebrae that held our family up. You acted as a shock absorber. When we were flying high, you knew there would be a drop. We bounced off of you like a trampoline.

You see, our family was fragile like most, but there was only one spine for the five that were standing. Seemed a little impossible, huh?

No, you see this spine has courageous, it was the backbone! It bends backwards, it moved side to side, dodging the bullets that could affect us five the most.

Subconscious

She helped you take the next step and encouraged you to do so. She walked away when the time was right, but somehow knew how gravity worked within our minds – as if she knew the exact moment we were about to slip.

She was the tissue between our brokenness that mended us back together. We were a cracked family, but we were one body. Each of us a separate limb – one of us the left leg, one the right – one the left arm, the other the right. That accounted for four of us. The last one was the spine.

The spine is in each and every one of us. Her blood runs through our veins and she is still our shock absorber. She somehow makes it possible.
